Creating Profile Content

The first step in the process is getting to the proper page in order to either add or edit your breeder profile. If you have not yet created your profile, you will follow the following steps.

• Locate the "Create Content" link in your main menu
• Select "Breeder Profile" content type

If you have created your profile, and would like to edit your current profile, follow this set of instructions.

• Locate & click the "My Account" link in your main menu
• Click the link for your breeder profile in your main user profile
• Locate the "edit" link at the top right of your breeder profile page. You will only be able to see this if your are properly logged in of course.

Profile Information

• Website Address

  You must provide a valid web address in order that we can link to your website, and generate direct traffic to your site. Include http:// in full address.

• Puppy Availability Status

  Selecting the appropriate setting in this section will highlight your profile when you have puppies available in order to generate more traffic in your need to place puppies immediately.

• Business or Kennel name

  Your full business name.

• Main Description

  This is the full description of your business and services. Be as detailed as possible. You can use some basic HTML, plain text, or the rich text editor described below. It is important to include as much information as possible here while still being brief. Imagine what someone would be searching for, and place that content here. Include things like information about puppies you have available now. You can edit and modify this at any time.

Rich Text Editor

When the Main Description Editor is initially loaded, it is in simple format, which may include basic HTML code. This editor can be used for entering plain text, or can also include basic HTML as defined below that box on the page.

In order to load the rich text editor, you will need to locate the "Switch to rich text editor" link just below the main description box. When you click this link, it may take a moment, but the rich text editor will load, allowing you to use an interface with familliar features like bold, italics, unordered and ordered lists, header tags using the format drop-down menu, and also insert links and images from another website.

Breeder Information

The most important portion of the entire breeder profile is properly selecting the breed sizes/colors that your offer so that your listing will be categorized in the appropriate categories.

We have employed an intuitive interface for this category selection for our breeders. In this screenshot, you can see that all the Standard Poodle colors have been selected. You may select/deselect any color option by simply clicking on it. Green means it is selected, and not green means it's not selected.

• Breeder Name

  Your full name, not required.

• City

  Your city, not required.

• State

  Your state, not required.

• Phone Number

  Your contact number, not required.

• Puppies registered with

  What registry you use to register your litters, not required.

While none of the itmes in this section are required, they will greatly help your search-ability. Only list your phone number if you'd like the option to recieve calls from visitors to the site, otherwise, they would be required to contact you through your secure, personal contact form.

Comment Information

With the increase in popularity of community sites, commenting and blogging, pages on the internet with frequently updated content are of great value to search engines these days.

It is highly recommended that your encourage many of your favorite past clients that you may still be in contact with to visit your poodle breeder source profile, and leave you a positive comment regarding your dealings.
